Barry is a highly experienced health & safety trainer and consultant and has spent many years designing and delivering courses throughout the country. His training portfolio extends from general health and safety training and IOSH courses to NEBOSH diploma. In addition to his role in delivering health and safety courses, he also specialises in electrical and engineering training and is a City and Guilds and EAL assessor and verifier.

His spare time is kept busy with entertaining his four young boisterous boys.

Chris looks after the majority of our NVQ students as an Assessor.

David Brown

David specialises in plant training and has been in the business since 2004. Prior to this, he was involved in industrial contracting. He has a business Degree from Coventry University and extensive experience in the operational and training of mechanical handling equipment.

David Ware is an experienced fire consultant with a first class honours degree in Fire Engineering.  He has over 15 years’ experience in the Fire Service and has spent the last 15 years delivering training at all levels.  He is a Fellow of the Institute of Fire Engineers and a Member of the Institute of Fire Safety Managers.

Evan Ross

I have just passed my 25th anniversary within the training field and continue to enjoy my role with the same enthusiasm and passion as when I first started within the training sector

With the commercial side of the business I have earned a good working relationship with my customers mainly because I will treat people as I would wish to be treated. Little did I realise that some of my customers are former apprentices who now manage and direct their own companies or budgets. I will continue to deliver a service that is respected throughout a number of industries.

Ivan Green

Ivan has been responsible for Health and Safety for in excess of 30 years incorporating various capacities ranging from safety representative to European Safety Manager. Receiving excellent feedback, comments and recommendations from attendees of courses with a wealth of knowledge and experience, Ivan prides himself in his style of training, which is forceful, educational and entertaining, resulting in numerous accolades throughout the world.

Ivan is a Registered Health and Safety Consultant as well as being a highly qualified Chartered Safety and Health Practitioner. He is a chartered member of CMIOSH and a full member of MIIRSM. He is also an approved licensed trainer for IOSH and has many other qualifications in the health and safety industry.

Jeff Poole

I retired from the fire service at the age of 50, having served the previous six years as a crew manager on a Technical Rescue watch.
I gained my initial FAW instructor qualification in 1986 and began teaching First Aid to personnel within Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service (LFRS). In 1992 I became a member of the newly formed Fire Service Overseas Search & Rescue team (now UKISAR), becoming a team medic.

In 2005 LFRS adopted an Emergency Medical Technician course which I delivered to personnel within the Technical Rescue team, of which I was also a member. In addition to teaching within LFRS I have taught First Aid at Work for East Midlands Ambulance Service and several universities and colleges. Although retired from the Fire Service, I still work as an associate tutor, assisting with the delivery of their Immediate Emergency Care course.

I am a member of my local Community First Responder group, and also a member of Leicestershire Lowland Search & Rescue team, where I deliver first aid and emergency responder training to team members.

Malcom Parnell

Malcolm has been training first aid and emergency medical care since 2002.

He spent ten years with East Midlands Ambulance Service beginning on patient transport services before undertaking further training to become an Emergency Medical Technician and finally Paramedic. Since then he has trained numerous people in all aspects of first aid, including three county fire services.

Mike Shakespeare

Mike is an experienced senior work at height instructor and is qualified to deliver IPAF, PASMA, Ladder Association, SMSTS and SSSTS training. He has held a number of senior health and safety and work at height training roles within a number of national companies.

Mike brings practical experience into his training courses, which allows the candidates to benefit from his extensive experience.

Mike has recently been involved in delivering work at height training to HSE Inspectors from predominantly the East Midlands and has received some excellent feedback from the HSE regarding the standard of this training.

Paul Harrington

A Health and Safety professional, specialising in Work at Height. A seasoned instructor, trainer and assessor with experience in the delivery of  IPAF, PASMA, IOSH, CIEH, CITB Training, accepted to national and international standards.

Paul has  over 20 years experience in the construction industry with 15 years experience in working at height and powered access. Starting out as a hoist and mobile access tower erector, moving on to operating MEWPS specialising in large truck mounted and spider platforms.


Paul has been training for over 10 years and is senior IPAF instructor and former IPAF Training committee member.
He holds the NEBOSH Construction qualification in Health and Safety, PTLLS level 4 and TAQA assessing qualifications.

Rod Puffer

Rod specialises in First Aid related training programmes for OMS. Committed to offering high quality training solutions, Rod’s success rates are outstanding and our customer feedback suggests that his teaching methods are both effective and the experience is enjoyable. Previous working experience was in sales for the media industry and this background has given Rod a wealth of experience in working with people and ensuring good customer service. Rod is CRB enhanced checked and has received training as Community First Responder.

Shona Neish

Shona has over 20 years’ experience in a Global Blue Chip Company designing and delivering training and organisation interventions. Her interactive and fun style encourages a great learning environment and her interventions are results focused, bringing to the fore her own knowledge and that of her participants.  Learning is always implemented by discussions on how to implement learning in a practical way back in the workplace ensuring that the Leaders behaviour becomes embedded in their day to day life. By being results focused, client achievement is Shona’s priority.

Steve Meakin

Steve Meakin joined the BSI Quality Assurance division in the mid 1970s, where he experienced the introduction of the first issue of BS 5750 in 1979 and the ISO 9000 series in 1987.  During this time at BSI he was involved in running Kitemark schemes and subsequently sector schemes for Certification to ISO 9001 as Certification Schemes Manager.

In 1990 he was invited to join the International consultancy firm, Neville Clarke, which later became part of Pera.  During his career within both BSI and Pera he has travelled to over 30 countries and provided auditing, training and consultancy services.

He is an IRCA Registered QMS Lead Auditor and, along with Anne-Marie Smith, now runs QMS Skills Ltd, where in partnership with OMS, he designs, manages and delivers IRCA Registered Auditor Courses.

I am a Chartered Health and Safety Practitioner with full Membership of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (CMIOSH).I am also a member of the Institute of International Risk and Safety Managers. (MIIRSM)

I hold a Masters Degree (Leicester University) in Occupational Health, Safety & Environmental Management, as well as the City and Guilds NVQ Level 4 Occupational Health, Safety Management qualification. I have completed the National Examination Board of Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH) Certificate and the National Examination Board of Supervisory Management (NEBSM) Certificate.

I am a PTLLS Registered Tutor and a Nebosh and IOSH trainer. Also a Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) Tutor for the Site Safety Manager Training Scheme (SSMTS / SSSTS)

As a Health and Safety Consultant I specialise in safe working at Height. I have many years construction and manufacturing safety experience and hold both the advanced and basic scaffold inspection qualifications.

A former Royal Engineer, Tim has worked in the training industry for over 20 years as a fully qualified NEBOSH health & safety professional.Tim has worked alongside Blue Chip companies and the Military, Army – Royal School Military Engineering (RSME). and also accredited to deliver Site Safety plus CCNSG, IPAF and is a qualified training assessor.
