This qualification is relevant to all workplaces. Ideal for managers, or those with health and safety management responsibilities. It is also a great starting point for anyone who is wishing to start a career in health and safety. It combines extensive coverage of the main legal requirements for occupational safety in the UK with an outline of common workplace hazards and how to tackle them.

NEBOSH is recognised globally; The NEBOSH National General Certificate in Health and Safety is the gold standard in health and safety qualifications, you really can take this qualification with you anywhere.

This qualification will take place over 10 working days in the classroom, with an additional day for your assessment. However, there is also the need for private study and background reading (approximately 40 hours of private study and background reading).

This training will take place here at our Leicestershire-based centre. This is a classroom-taught course with OMS.

As above this course is classroom based and is divided into two units. The Management of Health and Safety (NG1) and Control of Workplace hazards (NG2). See below for what they cover:

 

NG1: Management of Health & Safety

• How health and safety management systems work and what they look like
• Managing risk – understanding people and processes
• Health and Safety monitoring and measuring

 

NG2: Control of Workplace Risk

 

• Physical and Psychological health hazards and risk control
• Musculoskeletal health

• Work equipment
• Fire Safety

There is an open book exam (online). For the exam, you will have 24 hours to complete it (please note you may not require the full 24 hours).
You will also be required to carry out a practical risk assessment in the workplace. This should be your own workplace, which you generally would be working in on a day-to-day basis.

For learners, the NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety gives you the vital knowledge you need to ensure health and safety in your workplace and is a great foundation for building a career in the industry. You will discover new skills and techniques with practical applications and learn to perform better in your role.
