It’s the Final Countdown for ISO 45001!

We should now be heading into the final 3 months of the migration to ISO 45001:2018 from OHSAS 18001, however, due to COVID 19 there is an extension of 6 months.

In preparation, you might want to get yourselves ready by seeking advice on what the changes are and how these need to be addressed.

There is no better time, than right now, to have an effective occupational health and safety management system.  We rarely ever saw a pandemic on any risk register prior to 2020, but now its top of every organisation’s list!

ISO 45001:2018 is a fantastic framework for identifying, managing and reducing both business and health and safety risks, as well as driving improvements.

Even if you are not currently certified to OHSAS 18001 you may want to look at using ISO 45001:2018 as a framework for you to ensure your current system is robust enough to address the risks associated with COVID, as well as the many other work-related health and safety risks.

As part of our current CQI & IRCA offering, OMS are delighted to announce a new range of accredited courses for ISO 45001:2018.

Foundation
This course is for those people who want to know what the standard is about, how you would implement the requirements and during the activities you can even start to produce documents for your own organisation.

Internal Auditor
As with any ISO Standard, clause 9.2 requires an organisation to conduct internal audits to check their system is both conforming and effective.  Why not attend one of our Internal Auditor courses where our highly qualified tutors will go through the audit cycle and give you the knowledge and skills to plan, conduct, report and follow up an effective internal audit.

Lead Auditor – Our flagship course!
5 days of training going through the entire standard and really understanding how to audit this as an external auditor.  The course is accredited by CQI & IRCA and is recognised as a professional level qualification.  Suitable for health and safety professionals, those wanting to enhance their auditor skills and for those wanting to add value to their own organisations systems and performance.  This course is the starting point for those wanting to go on and register as a lead auditor or pursue a career in management system auditing.

All of our IRCA courses for 2021 will be delivered Virtually, via Zoom, which means that you can join us from anywhere in the world!

Thanks very much for the Health and Safety seminar last week, I have had some very good reactions to the 2 days from all the participants.

I think it is the first time I have seen auditors still smiling after a two day course and a number of auditors have said to me that it is the best course they have ever been on. From a personal point of view I thoroughly enjoyed the course and, being a course presenter/trainer myself, I know how difficult it can be keeping an “audience” engaged on what can be a very dry subject - but you did it. These courses are the first time we have used OMS as a training provider but they will be our provider of choice in the future.

Inchcape Shipping Services have been working with OMS for some time on a number of high profile projects. They have successful delivered a range of safety training courses for our employees, as well as carrying Health and Safety and Quality Consultancy services, both in the UK and internationally. I have found that OMS have always provided us with services of a very high standard, their consultants are always attentive and proactive and they provided creative, on-time solutions that have added tremendous value to our business.

Simon Peters

Senior Vice President – Liner Operations, Inchcape Shipping Services

In my dealings with OMS I have found the consultants to be knowledgeable and capable trainers for Health and Safety training courses, and their Office Support for administration of courses to be both efficient and effective. I would not hesitate to recommend OMS as a provider of Health and Safety training.
